CES: Power cut at major Las Vegas electronics show

A major US consumer electronics show has suffered a power cut, plunging part of the event into darkness.

The Las Vegas Convention Center hosting the CES event went dark at around 11:20 local time (19:20 GMT).

The organisers tweeted they were experiencing an “isolated power outage” adding they were working to resolve it.

The trade fair is marketed as the “world’s gathering place for all those who thrive on the business of consumer technologies”.

Some booths and venues still had power, the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) said.

It also encouraged attendees to “get outside on this beautiful Las Vegas day”.
